Although it offers fewer tradeable instruments, traders will be pleased to see multiple third-party platforms and a range of social trading platforms that can help traders access strategies from the world’s best traders. Pepperstone gives access to retail traders and corporates to the world’s largest liquid market, offering Forex, Shares CFDs, indices, commodities, Cryptocurrencies, and Crypto indices. Although the range of tradable instruments (150+) is much less than industries’ average brokers. Pepperstone has received international recognition for its multiple advanced trading platforms. Trading platforms including its proprietary trading platform, and legendary MetaTrader 4 & 5, cTrader.

Is Pepperstone safe or a scam?

No, Pepperstone is not a scam. Pepperstone is a comparatively new online forex broker founded in 2010, it gains huge popularity though it’s one of the largest selections of third-party trading platforms and multiple copy trading options. With more than a decade of financial market experience, Pepperstone earned a great reputation from its customers and worldwide recognized by industry experts. It’s a highly trusted broker regulated and authorized by some of the strictest regulatory bodies in financial industries. Pepperstone is authorized by 2 top-tier regulatory institutions,  Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Australian Securities & Investment Commission (ASIC). 2 tier-2 regulators Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA), and the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC), and 1 tier-3 regulator. Pepperstone’s parent company is not publicly traded, does not operate a bank. Clients’ money is kept in segregated funds in top-tier banks. Sadly, there is no negative balance protection available. Only European clients will be able to get compensation funds because of European regulations, and the rest of the world will trade under different regulators.

Commissions and Fees

Fees: In forex trading fees are generally of two types. Trading fee and Non-Trading fee.

  1. A trading fee is charged every time when you open a position. Training fees include spreads, commission fees, swaps, and currency conversion fees.
  2. Non-trading fees include deposit and withdrawal fees, and inactivity fees.

Trading Cost: Trading fees and commissions are depends on account types. Most accounts don’t charge commissions. Luckily the broker does not charge any fees for deposits and withdrawals, on top of that, there is no inactivity fees, where most brokers charge $5 to $30 in inactivity fees if an account remains unused for three to twelve months.

Razor account types have some great offerings rather than standard account types, especially for high volume traders it has an active trader program and opportunity to trade ultra-low spreads. Its pricing slightly higher than other competitor brokers, often not the cheapest option, but not a premium option either. The chart below lists the trading cost of a standard account:

Standard account: Standard account might not be the best option Pepperstone has to offer, there is no commission but contains higher spreads, spreads is variable average spreads on the EUR/USD pair is 1.09 pips, last year 3rd quarter because of CORONA virus pandemic we saw high as 1.16 pips spread. This account designed for beginner traders.

Razor account: Razor account types offering impressive features like trade with a fixed commission and raw spreads from 0.0 pips (typically 0.16 pips). Traders looking for scalping trading or run Expert Advisor to execute trades under milliseconds razor account type could be the perfect solution. Traders have a huge collection of third-party trading platforms to chose from. like MetaTrader platforms (MT4 or MT5) or cTrade platform.

Active traders: Pepperstone’s active trader program rebates a portion of the spread, depending on your monthly trading volume and the applicable tier.

Pepperstone Review Rebate Program

Pepperstone provides rebates to its active traders, there are three levels of rebate program available, traders can receive 10% to $20% rebate per million traded, rebates depends on traders’ monthly trading volume.

The following rebates apply when you trade forex, USOil, UKOil, and some others.

Commissions

Commission fees are charged depending on account types, Standard account types don’t apply commission fees only trading cost is spread, and razor account types are charge very tight commissions. Commission structure also varies depending on trading platforms. like MT5 razor account holders pay a $7 commission and MT4 razor account holders pay a $7.53 commission. cTrader Razor account commissions are little complicated, although still very competitive. There is a 7 unit charge for each lot.

Pepperstone Review: Overnight rates

Pepperstone is very transparent about overnight swap rates. The overnight rates from Pepperstone are the benchmark regional interest rate of the underlying product, adjusted by Pepperstone’s fixed 2.5% charge.

No, Pepperstone doesn’t charge inactivity fees, where most brokers deduct $5 – $30 in inactivity fees every month after a certain period of time on unused accounts. (typically three to twelve months).

Although Pepperstone offers fewer tradeable instruments than most other brokers on the market, there is still plenty of opportunities to diversify your portfolio. Currently, they are offering 150 instruments including popular markets and some exotic pairs as well as Forex, indices, commodities, and cryptocurrencies. The range of product you will be able to trade it depends on which global entity under Pepperstone house you are trading with. Spread betting available only for UK and Ireland clients.

Pepperstone could be a better choice for more advanced traders with big accounts who want more advance algorithmic trading with the best popular platforms. Although it features less tradeable instruments we think it would be enough for most traders if not all. Not to mention their rich educational resources will satisfy most beginners and medium traders.
